May God Bless America
As I sit here on my deck looking out at the beautiful scenery in a foreign country I share this with a passionate belief in America and the way the system has appeared to keep working for almost 300 years. Think about it for a moment. Any of you history buffs would certainly have to admit that there hasn't been too may free societies that have survived more than a couple of hundred years; Right?
So here we are America. Still the most free capitalistic form of government in modern history. Now that's not to say we're by any means free from fault or failure. On the contrary. We have lots of faults no doubt and we've made many mistakes and had our share of failure along the way.
Our leaders over the years on both sides of the isle have blundered and blundered big on many if not most issues that have and will continue to impact our lives one way or another. This is a fact of life and won't go away anytime soon if ever. In fact we're living in the most complex, multi-cultural, multi-philosophical, mult-faith and multi-racial environment in recordable history yet we seem to continue living in relative peace compared to most of the World.
So as an Independent & leaning Libertarian who believes in fiscal restraint, prudence and responsibility but believes that government has no right prying into our personal lives or the choices that we make as long as it's not directly negatively impacting the peace and space of others it's now time to step up and come together as a strong and productive body and move forward into a very challenging and complex future.
It's time to move from the past, albeit not totally forget all of it, and move forward together in a responsible, sensible and peaceful way. We need to unite, rise up and become the Country we once were. We need to be strong. We need to be employed, We need to be productive. We need to provide a comfortable environment for everyone to live in. We must rebuild our military to protect ourselves yet not encroach on others who don't share our beliefs. But most importantly we need to come together as a strong, powerful and united nation and move forward into a very challenging and complex future.
It won't be an easy path and it's ridiculous and unproductive to think that we will solve every problem and challenge and provide a comfortable home for every person in the World all the time. But we need to keep trying. As long as we give more than we take there will there will always be enough to go around.
So now ask me what else I'll be doing for the next week whence sitting idle with nothing to do but rest, think, reflect, be thankful and thank God for the blessings and opportunities he's given my wonderful family and me to be born, participate and contribute to this magnificent Nation.
May God Bless America
