Hurricanes Are Nothing To Mess With! Get Out Now! It Could Kill You!

Hurricanes Are Nothing To Mess With!

Get Out Now! It Could Kill You!

This is a message to all my Florida friends and associates. I implore you, having been a disaster response contractor who spent over a year cleaning up most of Florida after Hurricane Charley and his 3 buddies ravaged much of Florida in '04, this is serious and deadly business and nothing to mess around with.

Believe me when I tell you first hand that having had to drop and run twice to get out of Dodge before the next event hit it was one of the most stressful and scary times I can ever remember.

BTW, this comes from responding to almost 30 years of hurricanes, fires, floods, tornadoes and earthquakes as a FEMA contractor. Nothing was scarier than hurricanes.

If you know anyone who lives in a Mobile or Manufactured home, especially if they're seniors or in anyway handicapped or physically or mentally impaired please, please, please be mindful of them no matter where you are at this moment. If there's anything at all you can do to help anyone who may be in harm's way please don't hesitate. You could be saving their life.

Manufactured homes are the most vunerable and volitile places you can possibly be in any natural disaster let alone a hurricane. They will get devastated and no one should even think about riding it out in a Mobile or Manufactured home.

Just to set the record straight here's a little recap of 2004 in just a few short months in Florida. Take a little time out of your busy day to reminisce and remember how it impacted you, your family, friends and neighbors.

Do what you can the

best way that you can

But then get the Hell out

of town. This is nothing

to mess around with.

Hurricane Charley

Hurricane Charley came ashore Aug. 13 near Port Charlotte as a Category 4 hurricane

Hurricane Frances

The first of two hurricanes to strike Palm Beach and Martin counties that year, Hurricane Frances came ashore late on the night of Sept. 4 at the southern end of Hutchinson Island as a Category 2 hurricane

Hurricane Ivan

Hurricane Ivan struck the western Florida Panhandle Sept. 16 as a 120-mile-per-hour Category 3 hurricane,

Hurricane Jeanne

Hurricane Jeanne struck first in the Caribbean, causing catastrophic flooding and mudslides in Haiti that left more than 3,000 people dead. The storm made landfall in Florida Sept. 26 at almost exactly the same place as Hurricane Frances, raking northern Palm Beach and southern Martin counties with hurricane-force winds. Maximum winds of the Category 3 hurricane

God Bless, stay safe and be well.
